NADIA TOWNSEND – HUMANITAS COUNSELLING STUDENT

Nadia volunteers her time by offering free online counselling via Zoom.

My name is Nadia Townshend. I have experience working in both corporate and the NGO sector as well as community-based projects. I have offered both counselling interventions, as well as training programs for both adults and adolescents from diverse backgrounds throughout Africa.

My interests in psychology and counselling are broad and I am flexible in my working modality as I have been exposed to various settings and different clientele.

I advocate for the validation of people’s experiences, beliefs and convictions, and in their potential to search within themselves, and around them for tools to facilitate healing and growth.

I completed both my psychology undergraduate, and honours degree at the University of the Witwatersrand. In addition, have furthered my passion and knowledge with key courses related to my fields of interest.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” Viktor E. Frankl
