Chevaune volunteers her time by offering free online counselling via Zoom.

Hi there! My name is Chevaune Lubbe. I am excited to join your Mental Health Journey! Many people think counselling is a waste of time or for those who are not okay but come and see for yourself the positive change it will most surely bring into your life!

A little bit about me! I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at North-West University in 2018 and completed my Honours degree in 2019. Helping people has always been a passion for me, no matter how big or small the problem is. In 2020 I worked with children on the Autism spectrum. I also had experience with children who have ADHD, ODD and learning challenges. Working with children opened up my eyes to the major challenge children have with being able to express their emotions in a safe and confidential way.

In 2019 I experienced a loss of two important family members, one to cancer and the other to suicide. It made me realize the importance of breaking the stigma attached to Mental Health. It also made me want to help those who may not know how to deal with grief or problems that may lead to psychological problems.

I love working with children but I am interested in broadening my expertise by working with teenagers, adults and the elderly. Vita Nova has allowed me to pursue my passion and to help those who feel as if they are failing emotionally, feel helpless and not too sure how to overcome the challenges that life may bring across their path.

I hope you will have the confidence and trust in me to allow me to walk this journey with you.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.” – John 14:27
