Wat moet ek oor my kleuter weet? - Artikel 2

Emotional Child Assessment: A valuable tool in understanding your children
The goal of an emotional child assessment is to get to know the child's view of his or her world, through play. The goal is not to analyse or to label your child but to create a holistic view of the child’s thoughts and feelings. Only when we understand the child's world, can we create the map to effective helping.

The Value in Original Play

The Value in Original Play
We are so busy, we are so focused and driven to provide for our children’s future that we forget that our biggest and easiest contribution to our kids is the love we give, right here and right now…
And no; you are not too old for this; Original Play has no age guidelines – everyone can “Play”, regardless of your age. In Original Play, there are no human-imposed categories; such as male or female, big or small, young or old.

Helping children deal with grief

Helping children deal with grief
Loss is never easy. We can't always predict or control it. We need to be aware of our own reactions to loss. Children learn from us and look up to us. If the adults in their life are stuck in the grieving process they will also be stuck.

Play therapy with couples
We all know that playing is an important part of childhood and learning, but can play also be potentially valuable to adults….? My answer is yes, it can be. Playing can bring you into contact with feelings, experiences and thoughts that you have forgotten, or suppressed. Playing with adults can also unlock creativity and healthy integration between your mind and your body.

Role of temperament in a relationship
Any temperament type can have a successful relationship with any other type. A successful relationship depends more on non-type-based factors, such as goals, core values, culture and religious beliefs. However, understanding your partner's temperament type is generally very beneficial to your relationship because it will give you a better understanding of your partner's way of thinking and their needs.
